Convergence is the annual event where connections are generated, best practices are shared, and business relationships are built and renewed.”

February 1st 2012 – There are so many applications for electronic signatures and it continually amazes us how many documents are actually being signed everyday.   We recently began working with one of the largest home builder in the country and did a release on on their application.  Electronic signature application seem to be growing every month as the fax machine seems to be on its way out.    Release is here : Sertifi Electronic Signature Software

How does a company avoid having to hire two additional full-time employees to process waivers?   For one national home builder, the answer was electronic signature software. This national builder needed a streamlined method for getting subcontractors to sign lien waivers. In November, they began using an electronic signature solution by Sertifi ( www.sertifi.com ) .“We wanted to assure subcontractors that there was a third party handling this,” a representative for the builder said. “We wanted there to be no accusations of someone having signed someone else’s documents on their behalf.”

Laws differ among states, and Sertifi provided one form waiver that met requirements in every state this builder provides services. The software enabled the company to get 2,000 waivers signed via electronic signatures in the first three weeks.  The company had no system in place prior to using the esignature solutions software. Representatives just knew a process was needed.  “When you see it all come together and it all works, you feel like you just landed on the moon,” the representative said.  The next step is an automated process where once waivers are signed, checks are cut, rather than staff manually cutting checks.

“It’s a great system,” the representative said. “You’re talking about software that basically has saved us two full-time people thanks to automation.”

Sertifi is very fortunate to be part of a new technology that is helping to transform the way people and business sign and send agreements.  This market has been a long time coming, and is not always an easy transition as we have been signing documents on paper for thousands of years.   As part of this new market www.sertifi.com was featured in Chicago Business  ( Crain’s ).   Here is an excerpt from the article:

http://www.chicagobusiness.com/article/20111215/BLOGS06/111219869/web-of-influence-chicagos-innovative-tech-companies-feed-off-each

“The most obvious success story at the center of this, of course, is Groupon, with its roughly 2,000 employees. It’s been great to see them grow and hire more people, but what’s even greater is that they’re far from the only innovator in town. Seeing the growth of local companies as diverse as GrubHub, a food delivery service, and Sertifi, which speeds up contract agreements through e-signing and tracking, has been extremely invigorating.”

The electronic signature market is continuing to evolve and we here at Sertifi are preparing for a fantastic 2012.   We also have some very exciting new features coming out in the next few months.

We are proud to announce another major platform which has integrated the Sertifi electronic signature solution ( eSignature ) – Home Care Software Solution.    Home Care Software Solutions, Inc. provides agency management solutions to the home health, private duty, and hospice industry including comprehensive agency management software, billing and marketing solutions, custom programming, and industry leading customer service.    From our release:

“The partnership- finalized in September- came about after observing that while much of the health care industry has gone digital, there is one task that remains primitive. To bill Medicare, home health providers must drop off documents to the referring doctor to sign, which wastes paper and time.”

We would like to welcome HCCS as a Sertifi partner.

As web contracting expands into verticals such as insurance, healthcare, and technology – we are proud to be leader in a new industry – transportation.    It turns out that there is lots of paperwork for this industry including rate confirmations, order, etc.    A leading publication, Commercial Carrier Journal talked about the future of electronic signatures solutions including  Sertifi along with our partner Aljex.

A brief excerpt from the journal:

“It’s time-consuming to print agreements, sign them and fax them back to the sender,” says Tom Heine, chief executive officer of Aljex Software. “The sooner our clients have their rate confirmations and quotes back, the better. Also, many drivers are on the road and don’t have access to a fax machine. E-signatures are definitely the future.”

One of the many questions that we receive in regards to electronic signatures and eSignatures is ” will my customer sign electronically or will they choose to print, sign and fax?”   This is a very fair question and something that can be done through a pilot program with Sertifi.   Through other pilot programs we have completed with many of our customers including Pitney Bowes, Microsoft and many other – we have seen that when presented with the option, 93% of customers will choose to electronically sign over printing, signing and faxing.

Another interesting piece of data, is that over 95% of the fortune 500 have signed a document with Sertifi.   We are seeing many large firms adopt eSignature and even more accepting and preferring to complete and sign documents electronically.     As our business environment becomes more and more mobile, we need to provide our customers with the easiest and quickest way to sign and agreement.

Getting a signature on any document can be time consuming and expensive – espically in the payment processing industry.  For example, to open an account with a processor you will need to present information such as:

- Checking account information

- Copies of voided checks

- Articles of incorporation, website info, etc.

- Credit check, Signature and completion of the application

Thankfully all of this can do handled through the Sertifi electronic signature service.   With Sertifi and our partner IP Commerce, applicants can fill out required information on a web form – once.  The application will be pre-poulated with address, phone etc, and a credit check will be conducted.    Any additional information such as articles of incorporation can be uploaded as a reference document and the main agreement can be signed electronically.   This process has taken the cost of processing an application down from $120 per application to $20 and provided a major convenience for your customer.    Learn more about how Sertifi and IP Commerce can improve your application throughput and reduce costs.
